WELCOME TO ADUN LIBRARY

ADUN Library, now Emeritus Professor Augustine Esogbue Library, is an important educational center of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) centrally situated at the North-East angle of the University main campus and directly opposite the Faculty of Science complex. The Library is driven by the need to "provide users the bedrock to 'Learn, Explore and Connect' in ways that promote excellence in their academic pursuit." 

  


The University Library is fully air-conditioned and unlimited internet connectivity is provided to staff and students. The University Library has volumes of information resources (print and non-print) in all the courses offered in the University and other areas of human and societal knowledge. The Library has adopted the KOHA ILS (Library Software) for the effective retrieval of information, management of users and resources in the library. With two Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) stations at the Circulation Area, users are able to search through the library’s catalogue. The e-section of the University Library is equipped with computers running on the Thin Client framework providing users access to electronic resources (books, journals, etc).

LIBRARY OPENING HOURS 

The Library is opened for users six days in a week and the hours are as stated below:

Mondays – Fridays      -           8:00am – 9:00pm 
Saturdays                     -           12:00noon – 06:00pm

Services rendered in the Library are accessible only to registered users and are tailored to satisfy their information needs. The services of the University Library are clearly represented in the radial cycle below:

 LIBRARY REGISTRATION

All members of the University as may be defined in the Statutes are qualified to register. The 3 main Categories of Library Users are Students, Academic Staff and Non-Academic Staff.

On Thursday, 28th March 2025, the Emeritus Prof. Augustine Esogbue Admiralty University of Nigeria Library of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) held its quarterly in-house staff training at the Main University E-Library. The session aimed to strengthen ADUN Library values, operations, and technology, reinforcing the role of libraries in the academic ecosystem. The training commenced with an opening prayer led by Mr. Modestus Esogbwe, followed by welcome remarks by Mr. Sylvester Ebhonu (Chairman of the Library Consultation and Training Committee), highlighting the significance of continuous learning and upskilling among library staff.
