VC UNVEILS LIBRARY PROJECT, TEAM BUILDS RELATIONSHIP WITH NEIGHBOURING LIBRARIES

For academic libraries, effective collaboration is no longer an option but a necessity. The world around academic libraries is changing rapidly (Pinfield, Cox, & Rutter,  2017 ). As part of measures to promote collaboration amongst libraries especially in the Asaba axis of Delta State, the ADUN Library Staff led by Mr. Sylvester Ebhonu, visited Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-uku (DSPG) Library and Delta State Public Library, Asaba to mark the end of the National Library Week Celebration on Friday 22nd November, 2019. The visit to both libraries was an eye opener as the Library team was enlightened on processes and technologies used in effective library management and service delivery. The visit to DSPG Library was a fruitful one as the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Alex Obuh and his HOD, Library Science, Mrs Ayobi Grace received with joy the ADUN Library Team. Humans tend to waste a lot of things, such as food, electricity, money, water, tissue paper, etc. Funny enough, one would say, these are material things and they can be always recovered. One can get them anywhere through different kind of means, but come to think of it, the worst thing a man should waste is ‘ TIME ’. Time is Precious. In the context of this article, time wastage simply means 'devotion of time to an unnecessary activity or idleness, as a result of procrastination. ADMIRALTY UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA COMMISSIONS A 100% INTERNALLY FABRICATED FOOT-PEDALLED HAND-WASHING MACHINE

The Vice Chancellor and President of the Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), Ibusa Ogwashi-Uku Delta State, Professor Paul Omojo Omaji, on Thursday 7th, May 2020 commissioned a hand washing machine to help curb the spread of COVID-19. The machine project is to encourage healthy living through frequent washing of hands, as staff and visitors come to the University following the partial lifting of lockdowns. The device, installed at the University gate and christened ‘VISA INTO ADUN COUNTRY’, is intended for use by every visitor to, or returning member of the University community. This, in addition to an infrared temperature check at the gate, is part of the now established mandatory protocols before access is allowed into the University Campus.
