ADMIRALTY UNIVERSITY LIBRARY CELEBRATES 2019 LIBRARY WEEK (DAY 3)



As part of the events to mark the 2019 National Library Week, the University Library Staff, led by the Librarian, embarked on a Mission to sensitize members of staff of the University Community on the Importance of good reading habits, the need to support libraries and understand that libraries play a major role in sustaining development in Organisations, Institutions, Societies and in Families. According to Sylvester Ebhonu,
"well equipped, funded and empowered Libraries are great tools for transformational and  sustainable  development in Institutions and Society, at large."

During the exercise, an online questionnaire and users registration form was administered to various staff at their offices. The Highlight of Day 3 Celebration was the lending of Personal Development Books to encourage staff despite their busy schedule, to set aside some moments for feeding of their mind and soul. "Luminary leaders are avid readers."

While responding on a short interview, Mr. Kingsley Aduga, PAR/HR commended  the team for their efforts and encouraged the user community to leverage on the myriad services offered by the University Library.

The entire library staff expresses profound gratitude to our amiable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Paul O. Omaji, for his consistent support and commitment to ensure that the University Library is equipped with necessary resources to satisfy the information needs of students and staff of the University.

On Thursday, 28th March 2025, the Emeritus Prof. Augustine Esogbue Admiralty University of Nigeria Library of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) held its quarterly in-house staff training at the Main University E-Library. The session aimed to strengthen ADUN Library values, operations, and technology, reinforcing the role of libraries in the academic ecosystem. The training commenced with an opening prayer led by Mr. Modestus Esogbwe, followed by welcome remarks by Mr. Sylvester Ebhonu (Chairman of the Library Consultation and Training Committee), highlighting the significance of continuous learning and upskilling among library staff.
