When many people think of university libraries, what comes to their mind is a big building located somewhere strategic or central in the university, filled with books and quiet spaces to study. Even though that’s not far from the truth, it is only part of the picture, because there is another often overlooked component that makes university libraries important, and it is the Faculty Library. At Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), a Faculty Library is not just created for extension sake, but our faculty libraries are integrated with the main library and equipped to deliver the same level of services the user community enjoys when they visit the main library.   ADUN VC Holds Town Hall Meeting with Staff Members: Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN)  has witnessed a historic moment as the second substantive Vice Chancellor, Professor Christopher Bankole Ndubisi Ogbogbo, hosted the first-ever town hall meeting with the university’s staff.  The event took place on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Dele Ezeoba Multipurpose Hall, and was an important opportunity for open dialogue and mutual understanding between the management and staff. The meeting began with an opening address by the university’s Registrar, Commodore Isaac M.           HAPPY WORLD BOOK  AND                               COPYRIGHT DAY The first ever world book day in the world took place on the 23 April 1995.  The connection between 23 April and books was made in 1923 by bookseller in Spain as a way to honor the author Miguel de Cervantes who died on that day. UNESCO decided that on this date the world book and copyright day should be celebrated because of the Catalonian festival and because the date is also the anniversary of the birth and death of William Shakespeare and some other authors . Following the success of its maiden edition in March, the Faculty and Satellite Campus Libraries (FSCL) at Admiralty University of Nigeria held another enriching session of The Upskilling Hour on 9th of April 2025. This time, we had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Obinna Martins, Administrative Officer from the Department of Software Engineering, who continued from where Mr. Sylvester Ebhonu (Head, FSCL) had stopped the previous month. He shared valuable insights on research writing. From breaking down key definitions to walking us through the steps involved, it was an eye-opening and practical session — and yes, we left better and with great a Call To Action! On Thursday, 28th March 2025, the Emeritus Prof. Augustine Esogbue Admiralty University of Nigeria Library of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) held its quarterly in-house staff training at the Main University E-Library. The session aimed to strengthen ADUN Library values, operations, and technology, reinforcing the role of libraries in the academic ecosystem. The training commenced with an opening prayer led by Mr. Modestus Esogbwe, followed by welcome remarks by Mr. Sylvester Ebhonu (Chairman of the Library Consultation and Training Committee), highlighting the significance of continuous learning and upskilling among library staff.
